Creative Webolution's Web Design MethodologyDesigning and developing a website is just like building anything else, you must follow steps and a process to "build it right". Our Design/Development methodology:Scope/ Research & DiscoveryThe first step to design any Web site is to define the client goals. Careful planning and clear goals are crucial to success in building Web sites. We will analyze the clients needs in detail, determine solutions to meet those needs, determine deliverables, timeline, price, and draft a proposal. Once a proposal has been accepted, we draft a contract that clearly defines the deliverables. Initiate (Consultation)First we will approach the client with some initial ideas on how to meet their most pressing needs. The main intention of this phase is to discover the general concept for the site and determine the initial requirements for the site. A proposal at this stage is only appropriate if it is considered rough and will be revised/finalized and includes an estimated range for the price as you have yet to nail down the deliverables. At this stage in the process the initial requirements are often incomplete, vague, and often contradictory. Needs Analysis and ResearchIf you have not already filled out our Online Quote Request, we will request that you fill out a needs analysis that will help the client to articulate and identify the overall goals of their website project. Based on all information provided, we will determine your needs, what you are expecting from your website, and try to get a feel for your industry. It is important for you to be as detailed as possible. We may have questions for you to help clarify certain issues and we may need to communicate before quoting on your project. Website Development Quote (Proposal)We will send you a no-obligation quote and proposal with specifics of the work required for your project in the form of a proposal. This proposal will include an estimated cost and an estimated deadline for delivery. Website Development Contract (Initial Deposit)Once we have come to an agreement on project details, we will prepare a website development contract for you to review, sign and send back with your deposit as well as send you a project scope, which is a very detailed report of what we will be doing for your project. ProduceThis is the creation of the designs, content, code, and all deliverables for the project Information DesignCollecting Your MaterialsText, print, copy, brochures, products, pictures, product weight & cost... The more you provide us with the better. Domain name registration / Website HostingIf needed, we will secure your desired domain name (pending availability) and include the first 1-year of service. The domain is registered in your name with your information. Site PlanningWe will research your target audience as well as your competition to ensure that the site is geared towards your audience as well as makes you stand out against your competition. This is where we will determine the site structure; make Content outline, Site diagrams, and flowcharts. A more comprehensive Competitive Analysis is done at this time. Site DesignThe client will be provided with two or three sample designs based on what they want to choose from. The one they choose will be modified further to the client satisfaction. Once the design has been approved, we will begin building the site. It's very important to get the design approved before starting the development phase. It's much easier to do rework in Photoshop than in HTML, so it really saves time to make sure that the development phase just involves building out the site and no designing "as-we-go". Site DevelopmentThis is the building phase and the development of the backend. After receiving final approval on the Concept, we will then begin building the website, incorporating the design and all of the content that you have provided. EvaluateAfter the site is built, you will be able to view all pages to make sure everything is exactly how you want it. You will submit any desired changes to the copy give final approval before the site goes live. Test and RefineTesting the site involves not just the obvious questions of does the site work and function properly, but also does it do what it was meant to do, does it fit the needs of the users and the client, is it effective in meeting it's goals. Meta Tags, Page Titles, Page Heading, Alt Image Tags, Link Text, and Page Body Text evaluation and adjustment where needed throughout the website. Your website is tested on a variety of browsers to insure proper display and functionality. DeliverAfter final approval and payment have been received, your website will be published on your domain, and it will be live for the world to see! SupportOnce the website is launched, we will then begin submitting your website to search engines so that your new Internet presence can easily be found. Depending on the terms of your contract, additional support may be provided, such as website maintenance and marketing campaigns. Minor adjustments to the website are included at no charge for the first two weeks after the website has launched. |
